About the Missionary Training School at Palmas de Mamre

The school is located at Las Palmas de Mamré -- located on the Sarapiqui River north (two hours by boat) of Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica, near the Nicaraguan border. It operates in an area where formerly the word of God had not been preached and where little medical care existed. The training school afford an excellent opportunity to learn about spreading the gospel in numerous ways.

The school is directed by American missionary, Ana Moshenek who pioneered the ministry of Las Palmas de Mamré.

The vision of the Missionary Training School came to Ana Moshenek and a Costa Rican pastor as they were ministering in Peru. As they were returning to Costa Rica, they were begged to return to minister to the over 60 indigenous tribes which had never heard the gospel just in that one area of the Amazon. When seeing this great opportunity/need of missionaries and realizing that most missionaries do not want to go to such difficult mission fields, they realized that with proper training and preparation they could equip missionaries to minister to these people. Since Las Palmas de Mamré is located in a similar setting, they realized it would be perfect location for such training to take place. Therefore, the Missionary Training School at Las Palmas de Mamré was begun.
